Our Festive Adventure to Strawberry Fields & Ryman’s 🍓🎄

During the last Saturday of November 2022, after filling our faces and enjoying another wonderfully festive outing to Strawberry Fields Farm & Coffee Shop for breakfast, we decided to make a slight detour on the way back to Derby to Ryman’s Christmas Trees. It's in the nearby village of Wall - just south of Lichfield in Staffordshire, and less than a 10-minute drive from where we were in Burntwood. Easily accessible from the A5, too.

Ryman's: A Christmas Gem 🌲✨

We'd seen their fab Facebook Posts, so we had to visit while in the area! Ryman's Christmas Trees is a small, family-run business set up and run by Helen, Stuart, and their three kids - Joseph, Ben, and Kit. Their family have been farming in the village of Wall for over 100 years! Better still, just like us, they absolutely adore Christmas, which was evident today.

A Bloomin' Warm Welcome 🤗🥧

On arrival, we met the incredibly energetic and enthusiastic, Stuart! What a bloomin' lovely chap he is, too! From the get-go, he kindly offered each a lovely warming cup of complimentary mulled wine and a mince pie! He then encouraged and offered to take a photo of us all on the sleigh in the undercover Christmas tree farm. Such a warm welcome.

Fun Among the Nordmann Firs 🌲🏃

We then wandered up and down the aisles of Nordmann Fir trees, which the kids loved running up and down. These are excellent quality trees, too, which I believe Stuart and Helen currently source from plantations they know to offer the finest. According to their website, they are growing many Nordmann Fir Christmas trees on the farm. However, it will be a few more years before they are ready to be enjoyed by their customers. All the trees have names, too - Barbara, Sprinkle or Burt!

Delivery Details & Tips 🚚💡

Again, on their website, it states that they deliver trees to local postcodes for a £10 delivery fee. If you are local and the website does not accept your postcode, call 07788 883512, and they can help sort the problem out!

Christmas Galore: From Decor to More! 🎁✨

After a mooch around the trees, we stumbled upon Helen's fantastic range of Christmas gifts, accessories and decorations. The setup here is superb! There's so much to tempt you, including a fab range of handmade wreaths.

Next-Gen Shopkeepers 👦🏻🛍️

Stuart and Helen's boys were manning the till, which was great to see! Brilliant life and work experience for them, too, in learning the ropes, as I imagine they'll one day be taking over the reins from their Mum and Dad. Not just yet, though!

Heartfelt Conversations & Promises 🗣️❤️

We then had a lovely natter with Helen, who was incredibly complimentary about our festive community. We will be back before Christmas, I'm sure!

Snack Time: Food Truck Delights ☕🥪

A little food truck served hot drinks, toasties, and other snacks and treats. That might only be open at weekends. However, Ryman's might be open daily now until early evening. Double-check first, though, to avoid disappointment.

Ryman's: A Must-Visit on the A5 🚗📍

If you are heading along the A5 between Lichfield and Cannock, swing by the village of Wall to pay a visit to Ryman's. It's only a few minutes from Muckley Corner and the A5/A5418/Birmingham Road double roundabout near Shenstone.
